Platform terms & product responsibilities
These terms apply to your use of the Genform website, customer portal, design tools and storefront services. Read them before accepting. You may print or save this page.
What changed on October 25, 2026
- New section 7, Credits: every account is free and gets free credits each month, exports are paid with credits, and credit packs are one-time purchases.
- You can now buy a commercial license for a single export with credits. It never expires for that export (sections 3 and 7).
- Starter and Business plans continue. New accounts no longer get an automatic free trial; trials that already started run until their end date.
- The sections after section 6 are renumbered.
In short
- Genform provides design and storefront software and coordinates independent production and delivery partners. We do not make or ship products ourselves.
- Every Genform account is free and gets free credits each month. Exports are paid with credits, and credit packs are one-time purchases that do not expire.
- You may sell products made with Genform tools only while you hold an active commercial license. A commercial license bought with credits covers one export and never expires. Personal licenses never allow selling. See the Software license terms.
- If you sell, you are responsible for your products, their safety and the rules of the markets where you sell.
- Plans renew until you cancel. Payments are final except in the cases listed in the Refund policy.
- Your mandatory consumer rights and our own legal obligations are not affected.
1. Genform’s role
Genform provides software for creating and customizing designs, managing a storefront and connecting with independent service providers. Where enabled, Genform acts as a technical and commercial intermediary, transmitting orders, coordinating payments and external fulfillment, and routing support.
Independent partners perform physical production and transport. Genform does not itself print, assemble or transport products. Access to Genform does not include product certification, regulatory approval, electrical testing or a service to act as your EU responsible economic operator.
The legal role and duties of each party depend on the actual product and services involved. These terms do not override that assessment or exclude Genform’s own legal obligations.
2. Your account, designs and permitted use
Provide accurate information, protect your account credentials and use only designs and information you are entitled to upload, modify, manufacture or sell. If you act for a business, you must be authorized to do so. You must be at least 18 years old, or of legal age where you live, to buy a plan, credits or a license, or to sell products. An account is for one person: do not share your credentials. Do not use the service for unlawful activity or to offer unsafe or prohibited products, such as weapons or weapon components, or products that infringe the rights of others.
You retain your rights in your own uploaded content. You authorize Genform and the relevant service providers to process that content as needed to provide the features you request. Access to third-party designs or software remains subject to their applicable licenses.
3. Licenses and commercial use
Genform design tools are licensed, not sold. What you may do with a tool and with the files it generates depends on your license. The Software license terms set it out in full and are part of these terms.
- Personal licenses, including Starter and any license described as Standard, Personal Use or Pro without “Commercial” in its name, are for personal, non-commercial use only. They do not allow you to sell products or files made with the tools.
- Commercial licenses, including Business, Scale and Studio plans and any license described as Commercial (for example Pro Commercial or Early Bird Commercial), allow you to manufacture and sell physical products made with the tools, but only while the commercial license is active.
- Per-export commercial licenses, bought with credits (see section 7), allow you to manufacture and sell physical products made from the one export they were bought for. They have no end date: for that export, the commercial license stays active permanently unless it ends as described below. They do not cover any other export, design or edit.
- You may not manufacture, offer, sell or ship products made with a Genform tool, or from files it generated, at any time when you do not hold an active commercial license. This applies equally to files you generated while your license was active. A per-export commercial license counts as an active commercial license for its own export only.
- Commercial rights end automatically when your license term ends without renewal, when your subscription is cancelled, lapses or is unpaid, or when your payment is refunded, reversed or disputed. A per-export commercial license has no term; it ends only if the payment for the credits used for it is refunded, reversed or disputed, or if we end it under section 10. When commercial rights end, you must stop selling immediately.
- You may never sell, share or distribute the digital files themselves, or the software.
We may ask you for proof of an active commercial license, and we may suspend access or commercial features if you sell without one.
4. Seller and product responsibilities
If you offer products for sale, you are responsible for identifying and meeting the obligations that apply to your role, product and destination market. These may include product risk assessment and tests, technical documentation, conformity declarations, required markings, labels, instructions, traceability, registration and an economic operator established in the destination market where legally required.
Having a product made by someone else and selling it under your own name or brand may make you the manufacturer under applicable law. Outsourcing printing, assembly or shipping does not by itself remove that responsibility. Selling through Genform is not evidence of regulatory compliance.
Before publishing or selling, verify the complete product and all offered configurations. Give buyers accurate information about the seller, intended use, limitations, materials, included parts, assembly, warnings, price and applicable purchase conditions. Meet your tax, consumer-service and waste-management obligations where applicable. Notify Genform promptly of safety concerns affecting products offered through it.
5. Lamps, components and assembly
A printed lampshade or enclosure is different from a complete electrical lamp. Cables, plugs, lamp holders, switches, light sources, power supplies, fixings and assembly are included only when the relevant offer expressly says so. Confirm the exact components and who supplies and assembles them.
A compliant individual component does not establish compliance of the assembled product. Assess the finished product for its intended use, including heat, stability, electrical and material risks where relevant. A material name or printable model is not a statement of electrical or fire safety.
6. Designs, previews and third-party services
Previews, generated files, printability checks and quotes support your workflow; they do not certify safety or fitness for a particular use. Validate dimensions, tolerances, materials, assembly and the final result before sale or use. Relevant design or material changes may require further validation.
External manufacturing, delivery and payment services have their own operational requirements. Their availability, or their acceptance of a file or quote, does not establish that a product is legally ready for sale in a destination market.
7. Credits
Exports in Genform studios are paid with credits, unless a license you own or a Genform plan already covers them.
- Free monthly credits. Every Genform account is free and receives free credits each month, currently 5. They renew every month on the day of the month you created your account. Free credits that you do not use by the end of a monthly period expire and do not roll over. Free credits are used before purchased credits.
- Credit packs. You can buy credit packs as one-time payments through PayPal. A pack is not a subscription and never renews. Purchased credits do not expire while your account exists.
- No cash value. Credits can only be used for exports and licenses in Genform. They have no cash value, cannot be exchanged for money and cannot be transferred, sold or given to another account. Credit packs are non-refundable once the credits are added to your account, except where the law requires a refund or as listed in the Refund policy.
- What an export costs. Every studio shows the price in credits before you confirm an export. An export for personal use currently costs 1 credit. A commercial license currently costs 4 more credits, 5 in total. A license you own or a Genform plan that covers the studio appears as a discount, and the export then costs no credits.
- Failed exports. If an export fails, the credits charged for it are returned to your account automatically. To prevent abuse we may limit automatic returns; contact us about any failed export whose credits did not come back.
- Exporting again. Exporting the same design again within 24 hours, for example in another format, costs no credits for the license you already paid for.
- Commercial license per export. When you add a commercial license to an export, you receive a perpetual, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to manufacture, have manufactured and sell physical products made from that export. It never expires and covers that export only. You may never sell, share or distribute the digital files themselves. Each license has a code that you can find under Credits in your account. The Software license terms set out the details.
- Plans. Starter and Business plans continue to be available in your account. While a plan is active, the exports it covers use no credits.
- Changes. We may change credit prices, pack sizes, the number of free monthly credits and export costs for the future, after notice in your account or on our website. A change does not affect credits you already hold, exports you already made or licenses you already received.
- Your account. Credits belong to your account. If you close your account, unused credits end without a refund. Commercial licenses you received stay valid. We may remove credits that were added by mistake, obtained through abuse or paid with a payment that was refunded, reversed or disputed.
8. Plans, payments, renewals and refunds
Accepting these platform terms does not start a paid subscription, buy credits, place an order or authorize a charge. Plan prices and features are shown before you subscribe, and credit pack prices before you buy. Prices exclude taxes unless stated. Manufacturing, shipping, payment fees and taxes may be separate costs disclosed in the relevant commercial flow.
Paid plans renew automatically each billing period until you cancel. You can cancel at any time in your account, and your plan stays active until the end of the period you have paid for. We may change plan prices or features for future billing periods after notice; a change does not affect a period you have already paid for.
Payments are final and non-refundable except in the cases listed in the Refund policy, which is part of these terms. Free trials do not renew into a paid plan unless you approve one. New accounts no longer receive an automatic free trial; trials that already started continue until their end date.
The commerce and external manufacturing terms additionally apply when those services are used. Their seller onboarding, estimate approval and buyer purchase acceptance remain separate steps. This platform acceptance does not replace them.
9. Privacy and cookies
We handle personal data, including your credit balance, credit history and commercial license records, as described in the Privacy policy and the Cookie policy.
10. Rights, responsibilities and safety action
Each party remains responsible for its own acts, omissions and obligations under applicable law. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, mandatory consumer rights, statutory guarantees or remedies, or a consumer’s mandatory jurisdiction rights.
Genform may restrict a listing or access where needed to address unlawful use, product safety issues or a legal requirement, and will provide notice where appropriate and legally permitted. Required cooperation, corrective action or buyer notification is not waived by these terms.
We may also suspend or end an account, license or plan if you break these terms or the Software license terms, sell without an active commercial license, do not pay, or reverse or dispute a payment. If we end a paid plan for reasons other than your breach, we will handle your unused paid time in line with the Refund policy.
11. Disclaimers, liability and governing law
Genform’s software and services are provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent the law allows, Genform is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses or lost profits, and its total liability for any claim relating to the platform is limited to the amount you paid to Genform in the 12 months before the claim arose. This does not limit liability that cannot lawfully be limited, or any mandatory consumer right.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts located in Delaware have jurisdiction, except that consumers keep the mandatory protection and jurisdiction rights of their country of residence.
12. Acceptance and changes
This version replaces version 2026-10-01-v2. Because it adds the credit terms and the per-export commercial license, it requires a new acceptance.
The initial access screen requires affirmative, unchecked confirmations. It stores the accepted version, date and confirmations in this browser. Clearing site storage or using another browser requires acceptance again. This browser record is not an authenticated account signature or a manufacturing approval.
A new platform-terms version requires a new acceptance before continuing through the gated pages. Changes do not retroactively replace the recorded terms of an existing order. Separate commercial acceptances continue to be recorded in the relevant seller or purchase flow.
